Local Music Events

WNRV is dedicated to preserving and promoting the musical traditions and heritage of this region. We are active in the community in covering local music events, as well as hosting our own events.

Here are some of the music events that WNRV has been involved with over the past few years:

    2016

  • Live in-studio performances by Tim Pak (March 5), Blue Connection (March 12), Sugar Run (March 19), Little Stony Nighthawks (April 2), Indian Run Stringband (April 16), Old Man Kelly (April 30), and East Montgomery Ginsengers (May 21).
  • Glen Alton Spring Jamboree & Come Out and Play Day (June 4, 2016; recorded live music from Dean Reed & Friends, plus others).
  • Fourteenth Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention (June 10-11, 2016; on-site broadcast with 8 hours of live music, rebroadcast the featured bands plus individual and band competitions).
  • Pearisburg Community Market’s Music at the Market (May-October, 2016; recorded live bands each month).
